LIC Updated Guidance on the Coronavirus

LIC SERVICE DISRUPTION
  1. PRAYERS/JUMU’AH:
    1. The Jumu’ah Khutbah will be shortened to 15 minutes. The Khutbah will start at 1pm & Salaah will be at 1:15pm.
    2. There will be a suspension of praying sunnah prayers at LIC.
  2. MASJID OPENING/CLOSING TIMES:
    1. Fajr Prayers – the masjid will open 20 minutes before the start of the congregational Salaah and close 10 minutes after the Salaah has ended.
    2. Jumu’ah prayers – The masjid will open at 12:30pm.
    3. For the five daily prayers the masjid will open at 12:20pm and close 20 minutes after Isha Salaah has ended.
  3. SUSPENSION OF SOME SERVICES AT LIC:
    1. Starting on Monday 16th March 2020 the following services will be temporarily suspended until further notice:
      • YMA & Tarteel
      • Scouts & Youth Club
      • All events, adult classes & lectures
OTHER MEASURES
  1. SPIRITUAL ACTIONS:
    • Renew our Iman (Faith), Reciting the Qur’an, remembering the destroyer of all pleasures/Death, Constant remembrance of Allah/dhikr, & praying Qiyamul Layl.
    • Seeking protection & help in Allah through Morning (after Fajr) and Evening (after Maghrib) adhkar/supplications:
  2. Protecting ourselves and others FROM HARM through, SELF-ISOLATION AT HOME IF UNWELL, performing wudhu at home, and praying alone.
IMPORTANT MEASURES
  1. LIC discourages anyone over the age of 60 or those with underlying health problems to PRAY IN THE MASJID.
  2. Anyone who is vulnerable and needs support with food shopping or hospital/GP appointments should contact LIC on 0208 690 5090.
