The Lewisham Islamic Centre (LIC) proactively looks at ways it can operate better services and policies.
Unfortunately, the Muslim ummah (community) finds itself in a state of flux with wars, occupation, tyranny and oppression most recently brought to the fore to witness with ethnic cleansing in Sheikh Jarrah, Palestine and the barbaric killings in Gaza, Palestine.
In such circumstances, the Muslims in Lewisham as in all places find themselves asking ‘what can we do’ and ‘how can we help’. With this in mind, the LIC has developed the ‘Quds Policy’ to outline its position and actions concerning any international issue where Muslims face persecution, prejudice and discrimination, e.g. France, China, Palestine etc. This policy is hoped will help inform our actions and responses.
